Collegiate: After attending Alabama for one season (1983), transferred to WVU for final three years … teams went a combined 52-23-1 throughout three seasons … helped WVU to three straight Atlantic 10 Championship runner-up finishes and three NCAA Southeast Regional appearances.
Professional: Entering her 29th season as Michigan head coach in 2018 … owns a 723-247-2 career coaching record and a 281-44 Big Ten Conference record … inherited program in 1990, and prior to her arrival, UM had not finished better than fourth in the Big Ten … took UM to a seven-win team in her first year (1990) to a 20-win team in her third year (1992) … has led UM to 22 Big Ten Championships, three Big Ten regular-season titles, 23 NCAA Championship appearances and 10 NCAA Super Six berths … 11-time Big Ten Coach of the Year … eight-time NCAA Regional Coach of the Year … 1994 NCAA National Coach of the Year … helped Wolverines win 11 NCAA Regional titles and two NCAA National runner-up finishes … UM won a Big Ten-record seven straight conference titles (1999-2005) and 11 NCAA Regional crowns … UM gymnasts have won 177 NCAA All-America honors and eight NCAA individual titles … UM gymnasts also have won 150 All-Big Ten honors and won or tied for 91 Big Ten individual event titles … has coached 11 Big Ten Gymnast of the Year winners, as well as 12 Big Ten Freshman of the Year honorees … gymnasts have earned 173 Academic All-Big Ten honors and 112 student-athletes have earned NACGC/W Scholastic All-America accolades … while studying toward her master’s degree in sport management and administration at WVU, she served as a volunteer assistant under long-time WVU coach and WVU Sports Hall of Fame inductee Linda Burdette-Good … graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy (Dimension II) and was recipient of the Judy Sweet Spirit Award in 2007.
